During the preliminary hearing, homicide detective Jonathan Ross, testified that both Stallworth and Brown are pointing fingers. Brown told detectives that she didn’t realize Cupcake was with them until she came out of the restroom and noticed the little girl sitting on the sofa. Patrick, she said, was kneeling on the sofa in front of Kamille forcing the girl to perform oral sex on him. Brown then went to take a nap and once she woke back up she asked Patrick where the little girl was. Patrick preceded to tell her that she was tripping and walked out of the apartment with a trash bag and threw it in the trash bin with old furniture.
Ross also testified that fingernail clippings from Cupcake’s left hand showed evidence of Stallworth’s DNA.
Stallworth told detectives that Brown was on the sofa with Kamille after he came into the door. He claimed that Brown stated, “I want to keep her”. After Stallworth refused, he claim to have gone outside to smoke a cigarette. After coming back in he said that Brown had covered the girls mouth and nose and the girl went asleep.
Autopsy reports show that Cupcake died of asphyxiation by suffocation and there were toxic levels of meth and Trazodone in the toxicology report. Cupcake wasn’t just exposed to the drugs, she had ingested them.
Testimony from the hearing also shows that a mattress was inspected after removing plastic and blood covered the mattress in several places. The blood showed a mixture of DNA from Stallworth, Brown and Cupcake.
